The academic tradition that exists in him as a doctor, the instinct to gather knowledge from reading references and the accumulated experience of professional work practices related to Javanese customs and traditions, has also become knowledge of ceremonial traditions related to the human life cycle, from the time of conception, birth, the stages of life's journey, up to marriage and death, which he is very good at, including the meaning of symbols and their application in the traditional ceremonies of the life cycle of individuals and families.
Wigung has also had the willingness to disseminate knowledge, become a sense of source of knowledge of procedures, various symbols and meanings and their completeness, as well as the practice of their application in various traditional ceremonies related to the life cycle. This includes sorting and selecting different styles and versions of the local cultural area. In fact, in practice blending between styles has become a practiced skill. Wigung Wratsangka, born in Pacitan, East Java, September 19, 1967. Graduated from high school in Yogyakarta (SMA Negeri 2), and graduated as a doctor from the Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University, 1986. Actively engaged in the field of traditional customs, since 1987. Hosts and guides customary events of the life cycle of Javanese culture throughout Indonesia, from the level of ordinary families in villages and cities, to events for families of state and national officials, and royal families, as well as entrepreneurial leaders. Actively writing presentation papers as resource persons in the form of detailed material on traditional ceremonies related to the life cycle, such as procedures for majang tarub, siraman, midodareni, panggih bride, tedhak siten, tingkeban, taraban, panggih pondhongan, and so on. Related to that, his knowledge of the traditional ceremony has been recorded in video form and broadcast via JogjaTV into more than 52 series of broadcasts. He is also very often the resource person for traditional life cycle ceremonies which are broadcast on several television stations.
In addition, Wigung actively studies and disseminates knowledge of Javanese traditional makeup and clothing by demonstrating the practice of its application. Wigung is also active in fashion make-up organizations, such as HARPI MELATI, Yogyakarta, HASTANATA, and Tiara Kusuma. He is also one of the founders and organizers of the presenter organization, the Yogyakarta Pranatacara Association (PPY) Yogyakarta, whose management includes all districts/cities in DIY. His dedication and loyalty in the field of traditional customs, among others, is to pursue it wholeheartedly, even leaving medical practice which is his competence right.
