Trimorejo

Trimorejo was born in Gunungkidul on July 18 1957 as caretaker of Krapyak Temple who currently resides in Rukun Tangga (RT) 01 Rukun Warga (RW) 08 Padukuhan Candi Kalurahan Giring Kapanewon Paliyan, Gunungkidul Regency. Krapyak Temple happens to be located only 400 meters from his house, so it doesn't take long to get to the petilasan. 47 years later, he received the baton from his late father, Sonawi, and Sonawi received a mandate from Mbah Candi, a woman as the caretaker of Krapyak Temple. The noble task inherited from his parents was carried out sincerely and with full responsibility. Every night he devoted himself to providing services to pilgrims who came from various places.

As a caretaker, he is fully tasked with caring for and managing as well as providing services to pilgrims. Every year, on Legi Friday, after the corn harvest, a ritual is held, namely the Temple Alms ceremony. The implementation of the traditional Alms Temple ceremony begins at around 09.00, the community departs from their respective homes and gathers at the Krapyak Temple's petilasan to take part in the Temple Alms. By bringing uborampe or offerings which include bledhak rice (rice made from corn), bitter gourd pelas, corn pelas, eggs and others. Almost all of the offerings prepared are sourced from corn, because corn is Ki Ageng Giring's favorite food. After the temple alms were also performed, Reog art was performed and it was placed around the petilasan.

It is said that when Ki Ageng Giring was still in Giring, he intended to build a place to become a kingdom and had ordered his pendereknya to collect stones as building materials. However, the plan was abandoned because after Ki Ageng Giring failed to drink with (young coconut) Wahyu Gagak Emprit, because Ki Ageng Pemahahan had drunk the degan that had been prepared beforehand. After that incident, Ki Ageng Giring was no longer in Giring for quite a long time, it is not known where he went, it is believed he was mukswo. The community feels that they have lost a figure who is loved and who is very meritorious, because he has provided a lot of guidance both in terms of agriculture and other matters.

Finally, the community jointly looked for Ki Ageng Giring by clearing/clearing the wilderness to make way for Ki Ageng Giring and managed to find him even though he had died. So to commemorate his services, the community held the Babad Dalan Ki Ageng Giring traditional ceremony. This traditional babad dalan ceremony is still preserved today which is held once a year to coincide with Kliwon Friday. The Babad Dalan traditional ceremony on Friday Kliwon is carried out by two subdistricts, namely Giring and Sodo subdistricts, because Ki Ageng Giring is buried in Sodo subdistrict.

Then the place that was not finished was used to build a kingdom by Ki Ageng Giring, the people called it petilasan and gave him the name Krapyak Temple. It is called Krapyak Temple because a small portion of the stones that will be used for the construction resembles the temple stone and is still there today around the petilasan. During its journey, the place was also used as the name of the Padukuhan, namely Padukuhan Candi as one of the hamlets in the GiringKapanewon Paliyan Village.

Trimorejo, who only had an education up to grade 4 at Trowono Elementary School in Paliyan, lived as a farm laborer and was very grateful for the duties inherited from his ancestors as a caretaker. For him there is a special pride when he can serve guests who make pilgrimages and deliver prayers. In 2019 Trimorejo thanks to his honesty and diligence in caring for culture, the Regent of Gunungkidul also awarded him as a preserver of the traditional Temple Alms ceremony. The existence of Krapyak Temple is indeed one of the means to foster a spirit of mutual cooperation, unity and oneness, all residents come together to attend a traditional ceremony led by Trimorejo Without discriminating between origin, ethnicity, religion and race.

As a caretaker whose job is to look after, care for, as well as provide services for visiting guests, he always hopes that the ruins which have historical value can still be sustainable, and can even become a cultural tourism destination. Even though Trimorejo only reached grade 4 of elementary school, he was always asked to go to other Padukuhan to explain the understanding of customs and traditions to the community. Giring Village has entered into a Cultural Village, so that its residents will continue to make it a cultured Village."**
