This traditional Javanese house is located in the hamlet of Celeb, RT 09, Srigading Village, Sanden District, Bantul Regency. The traditional Javanese house was built in the 1920s by Setyo Utomo, who was then the head of Srigading village, and functioned as a village office. At that time the existence of the house was considered important to support its duties as village officials, as well as a place for community gathering. The building that functions as a Kelurahan office is located to the east of the pendapa facing west, while the community gathers when there is an event with the village officials in the pendapa building.
This traditional Celeb house building still follows the layout and layout rules of traditional Javanese houses, which generally consist of pendhapa, pringgitan, ndalëm, and gandhok buildings. The uniqueness of this traditional Celeb house, the pendhapa building is not in the form of a joglo as in general Javanese house layouts, but in the form of a pyramid with two rows connected by a pringgitan, which is also in the form of a pyramidal jbngan. The surface of the third floor of the pyramid is made flat on a plot, thus increasing the area of the room which is very useful if there are village and community civil service activities, as well as other activities that involve many people.
The two limasan buildings in front which function as pendhapa in the pampajang blandar and the outermost panyëlak blandar are given additional srawing made of rows of curved boards, which function to reduce sunlight entering the pendhapa, besides that it also functions as an ornament. In the front limasan building, the front and bottom sides are added with hèk made of massive boards, so that the seating for guests or residents who are present is not entirely visible from the outside.
In the Pringgitan building on the right and left, there is a symmetrical room with doors and windows with a combination of blinds and panels, with a tbëng on top.
From the outer pringgitan roof to the outer roof of the two front limasan buildings, under the roof they are added with a pé grilled tritisan construction. The roof of the tritisan is made of corrugated zinc, while the console supporting the tritisan is made of ornate iron.
