THROUGH KARAWITAN JOIN TO CONTRIBUTE
FOR THE GREAT OF THE NATION AND COUNTRY
Pardiman Djojonegoro, S.Sn began his experiments and elaborations in the field of gamelan cangkem while working on his final project and thesis at the Karawitan Department, Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, 1995. The obstacles to queuing to borrow gamelan, and paying a lot of money for the accompaniment, were overcome by Pardiman with the creation of gamelan cangkem. This is what has been occupied until now, as well as in its work to become a driving force in socializing karawitan in various circles of society.
After completing his musical studies, Pardiman joined a number of musical and musical groups, both in traditional and contemporary areas. Such as the Mardawa Budaya musical at the Pujokusuman dance training center, Suryo Kencana group, Bagong Kussudiardja Art Padepokan, Sapta Mandala Kodam IV Dipanegoro, Otok Bima Sidarta music group (PLK YK), Kua Etnika - Djaduk Ferianto. Apart from that, Pardiman and his friends also developed the Acapella Mataraman group which is based on the gamelan cangkem. From the Acapella Mataraman group, apart from producing several CD recordings, it has also launched several talented young artists based on traditional arts such as Soimah Pancawati, Catur Benyek, Budi, and a number of other young artists.
Pardiman undertakes various professions, such as arranging music for dance, kethoprak, wayang and theater performances and being a facilitator and giving creative music workshops at several institutions, including being a host at TVRI Yogyakarta. What stands out from his various involvements is his passion for teaching karawitan. Both in schools from Kindergarten to Higher Education level, including in a number of agencies, and karawitan groups from village to village. Despite the limitations of the foreign languages he masters, yet Pardiman is also able to teach in a number of foreign countries: China, Russia and several other countries. "The language of the gamelan with fingers pointing, overcoming the difficulty of a foreign language," he said, laughing uproariously.
Not only teaching skills, Pardiman also mobilizes the groups in which he is involved or accompanies him. In addition to forming the Acapella Mataraman for adult artists, Pardiman also pursues educational music by forming the Sragam ABG (Srawung Gamelan Let's Play Gamelan) working group which operates among children. Starting in 2008, in collaboration with the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Sanata Dharma University, Pardiman pioneered the "Children's Gamelan Parade" which takes place every year until now.
Especially for the Mataraman Acapella, Pardiman always regenerates and creates new formats by embracing several junior high and high school teenagers in the DIY area. In 2016, Pardiman made a children's acapella, Icipilli Mitirimin. The basic spirit is reintroducing the spirit of singing traditional songs and dancing like children's games to welcome the full moon. Not long ago, Icipilli Mitirimin released the INDONESIA SAKTI video clip.
