Petilasan Gedhong Pulungsari, which is located at the top of the Padukuhan Sedono hill, is an area that borders Pundungsari Kapanewon Semin Village and Tambakromo Kapanewon Ponjong Village. To get to that location, even though at first it couldn't be reached by vehicle, it can only be traversed on foot because the existing road is still narrow, now it can be reached by vehicle via cobbled roads, namely roads made using sand with cement. Around Petilasan Gedhong Pulungsari, very shady trees grow, if you are in this place it feels very cool with beautiful views and you can see green plants even in the dry season.
Once a year, even though the location is quite far from the community settlements carrying Gunungan filled with sejaji/uborampe such as grilled chicken, uduk rice and others, the procession must walk to the Gedhong Pulungsari petilasan to carry out the Nyadran traditional ceremony led by the Kunci Kunci. The Nyadran traditional ceremony which has been carried out since tens or even hundreds of years is still sustainable today, namely as a form of expression of gratitude to the Creator, as well as a momentum to respect the ancestors, it can even become a glue for harmony, unity and unity among people. Even though it was carried out in stages and took quite a long time, the results were very encouraging, namely the roads in the neighborhood began to be neatly and cleanly arranged.
Pundungsari Village, one of 144 villages in Gunungkidul, was designated as a Cultural Village Pilot Project which later turned into a Cultural Village Pilot Project by the Regent of Gunungkidul, so cultural activities which were originally only arts continued to grow. Petilasan Gedhong Pulungsari is the tomb of BRM Sumadi and BRAy Sudarminah who were sons and daughters of Sri Sultan Hamengukubuwono II , and the people call it that Eyang Sumadi is the 53rd son while Grandmother Sudarminah is the 59th daughter.
