The railway bridge that crosses the Progo River is known by the local community as the Mbeling Bridge, connecting the Sedayu area in Bantul Regency with the Sentolo area in Kulon Progo Regency. This railway bridge is managed by PT Kereta Api Indonesia Operation Region VI Yogyakarta under the name Hikmat Building (BH) No. 2034 north side. The condition of the bridge structure is still maintained and is actively operated as a single track railway bridge from east to west. Mbeling Bridge (BH No. 2034 north side) was built to complement the railway bridge built before 1886 (referring to KITLV photo data No. 19368).
This bridge is unique in terms of its construction, namely without being supported by a supporting pillar in the middle of the span of the bridge. The total length of the bridge structure: 138 m; 6m wide; Maximum height: 16 m.

The uniqueness of the Mbeling Bridge (BH No. 2034 north side) is the difference in construction from the end of the bridge to the abutment (base/head of the bridge support). At the east end, the bridge framework is connected with box girders (steel box girders supporting the railroad tracks) up to the head of the bridge, while at the end of the west side of the bridge frame work it is still connected again with a right-angled triangular framework. the elbow and damper construction are located inside the concrete box. That is why the Mbeling Bridge (BH No. 2034 on the north side) is only devoted to trains from east to west. . The damper construction on the west side serves to dampen the thrust and vibration forces from the passing train series, so that the deformation that occurs is elastic deformation.
