The man who is usually called Pak Har by the public was born in Bantul on December 23, 1966. After graduating from SD Negeri I Pandak (1980), SMPN I Bantul (1983) and SMAN I Bantul, Hariyadi continued his studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, Gadjah Mada University, graduating in 1994. Since 1998 Drs Hariyadi has worked as a village administrator at Wijirejo Village, Kapanewon Pandak, Bantul Regency. He served as the Head of Religious Affairs and Welfare who is now the Head of the Social Section (Kamituwa). Two years later, he began to be trusted to become the Chairman of Pasareyan Sewu Cemetery. Until now, this Bachelor of Philosophy who already has two children (Surya Hasan Aulawi and Niscala Zaidan Naja) is trusted by the community as the person in charge (Chairman of the Committee) of the Nyadran Agung Makam Sewu ceremony. Not only that, Hariyadi has also compiled a brief "history" of Panembahan Bodho, a figure who played a significant role in preaching religion in the Bantul region and its surroundings. Various sources say that Panembahan Bodho is a figure who is considered to have contributed greatly to spreading Islam when Mataram was ruled by Kanjeng Panembahan Senopati Ingalogo whose government was based in Kotagede. Because they are considered important figures by the community, every year the community holds the Nyadran Agung Ceremony to commemorate and honor the services of Panembahan Bodho. Until now, Hariyadi, son of married couple Dorori Conkrodikromo and Karsini Addurohman resides in Kauman village RT 01 Wijirejo, Kapanewon Pandak, Bantul Regency with his wife Maorina Purwaningsih, S.Kep. His position as Head of the Social Section makes him often carry out social work with the community as well as caring for the customs inherited from his ancestors which are full of local wisdom values as the identity of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. For his dedication and loyalty, in 2019 he received an award from the Bantul Regency Government as a figure in Preserving Customs and Traditions.
"In general terms, Nyadran comes from the word Shaddran which means chest, which later becomes Shaddranan," he said, explaining that Nyadran is a form of preparing the heart for the month of Ramadan. For Muslims, Ramadan is a glorious month and must be properly prepared by honoring ancestors and maintaining spiritual relationships with those who have died. "The meaning of Nyadran is litathiril qalbi or purification of the heart in facing the holy month of Ramadan by remembering and seeking as much provision as possible with good deeds and remembering the ancestors of their predecessors to show their devotion," he said. But when Nyadran starts, no one knows. Nevertheless, because it has become a belief that Nyadran is a religious ritual activity that has been passed down from generation to generation by the Wali in the Land of Java. The Nyadran Agung Makam Sewu is always held at the prayer room. It is a series of activities packaged by the committee in various ways and carried out for a week. Seven days before the ceremony, community work is carried out to clean the graves and continue with prayer. The Nyadran Agung ceremony is closed with a kendhuri and flower sowing ("nyekar") at Panembahan Bodho's grave. As agreed by the village elders, the implementation of Nyadran Agung Makam Sewu is determined every first Monday or the last ten days before the month of Sya'ban/ Ruwah in the Hijri year by wearing special clothes. The people involved in the event are mostly those who have ancestors and are buried in that place. Most of them are residents of Wijirejo village, Kapanewon Pandak, Bantul.*
