Preservers and Performers of Traditional Traditions in the role of coaches who actively participate in the implementation of the noble traditions of the Great Sadranan Wotgaleh. This tradition is routinely held at the Wotgaleh Tomb Complex, Sendangtirto, Berbah, Sleman. The involvement of the figure of Amir Junaman starts from the formation of the committee, coordination between hamlets and between related parties, and participating in the implementation of the main event.
The man who was born on January 12 1968 continues to strive for togetherness in the implementation of the Wotgaleh Great Sadranan. The surrounding community, the Purbayan (Poeroebajan) clan, the government, the palace, and related parties are often able to join together in carrying out this tradition, as well as providing space for appreciation of the life of Prince Purbaya as the ancestor of Mataram.
As much as he cares about the Wotgaleh Cemetery Complex, Amir Junawan is also an administrator of the Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Group). The figure of Amir Junawan seeks to highlight religious tourism in Wotgaleh by exploring various potentials, both the Sulthoni Grand Mosque, the Prince Purbaya Tomb, as well as the historical and cultural narratives embedded in it. In this context, the customs and traditions of the nyadran or prayer/congratulations ceremony at the tomb of Prince Purbaya can also be woven into the packaging of a religious or cultural tour package.
Initially, Sadranan Agung Wotgaleh activities were limited to local residents or relatives who had relations with Prince Purbaya or other ancestors who were buried in the tomb complex. When not a few ancestors of the local people were also buried in the area of the tomb complex, there was a relatively similar synergy of intentions and desires in the effort to remember and live up to the ancestral footprints that taught the wisdom of life. During its development, Sadranan Agung Wotgaleh was also marked by the arrival of close relatives of the Yogyakarta Palace, relatives or descendants of Prince Purbaya who were scattered in various parts of the archipelago, and even Sultan Badarudin from Palembang.
The noble customs and traditions of Sadranan are always carried out every year, so that at this time it is not uncommon during the Ruwah month or before the fasting month (according to the Javanese calendar), the Wotgaleh Tomb complex is almost always crowded with visitors to express closeness or appreciation for their ancestors personally. The peak of the Sadranan Agung Wotgaleh Traditional Ceremony was carried out waiting after receiving information (orders) from the Ngayogjokarto Hadiningrat Palace. In this context, the role of the figure of Amir Jumawan becomes relatively important in bringing together and managing various different interests so that such noble customs and traditions can be more orderly and preserved without reducing the values and wisdom contained therein.
Until now, the Wotgaleh Grand Sadranan Ceremony has not escaped the participation and attention of various parties, including the Sleman Regency government, relatives of the ancestors who are buried in the area of the tomb complex, or even the general public who want to attend the Wotgaleh Agung Sadranan Ceremony.
These series of activities cannot be separated from efforts to preserve ancestral heritage which contains various values and wisdom in respecting our ancestors, as well as living human existence in this life. The ancestors, ancestors, or parents have left traces of wisdom that need to be passed on to the next generation and even as intermediaries for human existence in this world by the power of the Creator. In this context, the role of the figure of Amir Junawan cannot be separated from a series of processes that provide a vehicle for human appreciation of his existence and for discovering traces of the wisdom of the lives of his ancestors in his lifetime.
Ancestors buried in the area of the Wotgaleh Tomb complex may indicate various traces of relatively different wisdom. Prince Purbaya, who is often narrated as a form of a combination of descendants between Ki Ageng Pemanahan and Ki Ageng Giring, has provided a separate space for understanding this life when coupled with other narratives from the two figures. Apart from that, the narrative of the relationship of respect for the mother who raised him in a rural environment and also the father who became the number one person in the Mataram kingdom has opened an appreciation of the wisdom of life, as well as the track record of the figure of Prince Purbaya in other narratives.
